The rates shown are for the BASE rental amount. Your lease will show other charges, some are optional, some are not. There is a 9.75% tax added to ALL rentals, as well as a $26.69 reservation fee. The security deposit is handled in ONE of two ways ( both appear on your lease- YOU CHOOSE which one you want- one is the refundable security deposit (refunded within 45 days of your departure, OR our SDA (Security Deposit Alternative) of $35.00- this is non-refundable and covers you for up to $1500. in security deposit type damages- NOT including extra cleaning, trash removal, or pet damages), we no longer offer trip insurance, but you may choose to purchase trip insurance- if you do, all trip insurance costs, and claims will be handled between you and the insurance company. There are other 'extras' that we can add if you request: Pet fee, firewood, etc.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover, You will receive a vacation rental lease by email or mail- you can mail, FAX or email your signed lease to us including your credit card info. We will not charge your card until we know which optional items you may or may not want. You may also pay by check . ALL final payments must be paid 30 days before arrival ( 1-828-526-3717).

The Mst. BR with King bed and TV are on the main level as well as a full bathroom. The deck is has easy access from the great room and offers a grill, dining and wood deck chairs. There's a covered pavillion deck that has a dining area and more seating. Perfect for a morning cup of coffee, reading a good book, or just sitting listening to the birds. In the evenings,, turn on the additional lighting to create an area made for memory making while enjoying wine and conversation. NO PETS NO SMOKING There is a nice little hike within a 1/4 of Bearfoot Hideaway. The one mile hike takes you through the woods to Cliffside Park (accessible by car from Hwy.64). It's a great place for a picnic or a swim in the marked off swimming area. Going the other direction, if you want to walk on the paved road, within a half mile to Pinky Falls, a very small area to get your feet wet and be surrounded by nature. Highlands, NC is where you'll find shopping in eclectic shops offering everything from the latest in men's and women's fashions, furs, mountain hiking apparel, toys, books, jewelry, furniture, antiques, and more. The dining experience varies as well from ice cream and hamburgers to 4 star dining, a wine shop, plus our grocery stores have some of the best wine selections anywhere. There are hiking trails IN town as well as many on the outskirts of town, and did you know we're pretty famous for our waterfalls. Our Recreation Park is open year round offering a skate park, a heated pool (water aerobics classes almost every day), and exercise rooms. In the winter months, the ice rink is open next to Kelsey-Hutchinson Park, and speaking of the park- in the summer, there's music, and a farmer's market on Saturdays. There's also live music on the weekends in other places in town. There's always something to do in Highlands, but sometimes people come here to just sit at home and relax. Highlands is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest, and being part of a temerate rain forest, it tends to rain here quite a bit, resulting in lush flora and fauna.     Bear Lodge - Lush perennials line the entrance to this three level home with 3 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. Covered front porch with Adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy your own little world. The main level offers a living area that is open for two stories, with large windows to allow plenty of natural light. There’s a gas log fireplace, TV, comfortable seating and entrance to the open and screened deck. Have your meals on the deck overlooking the forested area; there is a nice winter view, but be sure to catch the sunset view through opening in the trees. The inside dining area seats 8 comfortably and is next to the well equipped kitchen. The Master bedroom is on the main level and has a Queen bed and a full bath (with Jacuzzi tub and walk in shower).     Bearfoot Hideaway is a great place to relax and get away from the everyday. This cottage is set on a hillside about 4 miles (8 minutes) from Main Street Highlands, NC. The main level offers a great room with a wood burning fireplace, 40" TV with DVD, comfortable seating, games, dining area that seats 8-10, and an open kitchen (coffee lovers can choose between a Keurig coffee maker or a Mr. Coffee type drip machine). The main entrance to the deck is between the kitchen and the laundry room and offers a dining and seating area and a hot tub*. The bedroom wing offers a hallway full bath, a guest bedroom with a Double(Full) bed, and the Mst. BR with a King bed, 32" TV, and larger bath. The lower level offers a large den with 46" TV, DVD, and a comfortable seating area. There's a guest BR with a Queen bed, and another guest BR with two twins, and a bonus room with a Futon. There is one full bath for the lower level. Even though there are sleeping areas for more than the occupancy limit, we ask that you abide by the 8 person limit due to septic tank restrictions. Bearfoot Hideaway has a carport for 'normal height' cars/trucks with additional parking in the adjacent grassy area. This cottage is in a small subdivision with about 10 homes using the same road in front of the cottage. The road below the cottage services about 4-5 homes. Neither road is a though-way, limiting traffic near the cottage. A pet may be allowed with $150.00 non refundable pet fee and pet policy attached to lease. If you wish to use the hot tub, there is a hot tub fee of $100.00 for servicing before your use. There is a nice little hike within a 1/4 of Bearfoot Hideaway. The one mile hike takes you through the woods to Cliffside Park (accessible by car from Hwy.64). It's a great place for a picnic or a swim in the marked off swimming area. Going the other direction, if you want to walk on the paved road, within a half mile to Pinky Falls, a very small area to get your feet wet and be surrounded by nature. Highlands, NC is where you'll find shopping in eclectic shops offering everything from the latest in men's and women's fashions, furs, mountain hiking apparel, toys, books, jewelry, furniture, antiques, and more. The dining experience varies as well from ice cream and hamburgers to 4 star dining, a wine shop, plus our grocery stores have some of the best wine selections anywhere. There are hiking trails IN town as well as many on the outskirts of town, and did you know we're pretty famous for our waterfalls. Our Recreation Park is open year round offering a skate park, a heated pool (water aerobics classes almost every day), and exercise rooms. In the winter months, the ice rink is open next to Kelsey-Hutchinson Park, and speaking of the park- in the summer, there's music, and a farmer's market on Saturdays. There's also live music on the weekends in other places in town. There's always something to do in Highlands, but sometimes people come here to just sit at home and relax. Highlands is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest, and being part of a temerate rain forest, it tends to rain here quite a bit, resulting in lush flora and fauna. Private mst bath has a tiled shower, dual vanities and a TV so you don’t miss a thing while relaxing in the large jetted tub. There’s a small flat screen located in the kitchen that can be seen from the kitchen, living and dining areas. A beautifully lit wine bar with cooler, a small office with TV and desk waiting on your laptop to keep up with your day-to-day business while on vacation. The upper level looks over into the living area and has a large bedroom with a King bed, and full bath. The lower level has a large media room with huge TV and comfortable seating. There’s another large open room between the pool room and the bedroom with 2 twins and a private bath. Wait, did I just read POOL? yes! there’s an enclosed 8 x 13 Endless pool ready and waiting. There are upper and lower decks with minimal seating and dining areas. The gas grill is located next to the dining area to make it easy for cookouts. This home has zoned central heating and air as well as a generator, which means you’re in for year round comfort. This home is also listed for sale, and subject to being shown Monday-Saturday 10-4.
