Property Description

Quiet, serene, tropical...all overlooking a fabulous ocean view. A super location in the seaside community of Maalaea- situated between Kihei and Lahaina. This apartment is updated and up graded and has a tropical decor- open floor plan. King bed in the master suite, two twins in the guest suite. The additional queen sleeper sofa option gives the unit the ability to sleep six. The lovely dining setup also seats six comfortably. Kitchen is well equipped-with new granite counter tops and cabinetry; and there is a washer/dryer as well. Close by to shopping, restaurants and the world class aquarium all within walking distance. If you want to connect- free wifi- Or if you want to relax, from your lanai watch the waves roll in to shore, or stretch out on a chaise by the ocean or enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool. Nice condo

Overall a good experience. Good location and beautiful and quiet surroundings. Pool was a perfect temperature. Beach was private and swim friendly. We had good weather with a wonderful sea breeze so we didn’t use the A/c too much but it adequately cooled the condo. We didn’t cook so can’t rate that. At first I thought beds were too soft but I got used to them just fine. There were only two problems. First was that upon arrival we had no supplies NOT one square of toilet paper and no kleenex. Also we saw that the counter tops we’re greasy and not cleaned as well as the floors were filthy and made the bottom of our feet black. We wore our shoes inside the whole time. The condo cleaners failed.

Overall our stay at Kanai a Nalu # 305 was a positive experience. The location of the condo is somewhat "removed" if you're looking to stay out of the busy hustle and bustle of the larger towns or places packed with back to back hotels (i.e. Kanaapali, Lahaina, etc.). There is an amazing beach steps from the door and the grounds are beautiful and well kept. The downside to location is that if you need to run to the store you have a 20+ minute drive to Kihei or fingers crossed that the tiny general store in Maalaea has what you need. And there is no food delivery in this area that we could find so you have to leave the area if you want take-out, etc. The privacy overall was nice but could be a tad inconvenient at times. As for the condo itself - It was comfortable, had cold AC and was, overall, nice. A few issues - We were told there would be "basic supply of paper goods" only to arrive at 10 pm from a long day of traveling and find we had no toilet paper and the general store was closed - Closest grocery store +20 minutes. I contacted the property manager several times to ask about a pack and play, beach chairs, toys, etc. and was told "we don't supply those things but you can rent them"... So I paid $150 to rent the items we'd need during our stay only to arrive at the condo and find a closet full of toys, chairs, a pack and play, cooler, etc. Even if these are items left by previous guests, it would be nice if the manager kept stock somehow because guests like us end up wasting a lot of money to procure items that are already there. We didn't have any sheets for the pull-out bed (only king and twin were in the closets) but we made do with a flat sheet tucked in. Kitchen was decently stocked with cookware, dishes, etc. The property management company can be difficult to get a hold of at times - We'd email or leave voicemails and not hear back for a couple of days leading up to/during the trip. The checkout instructions were unclear in my booking - only to be told "they're in the binder in the living room" and the binder was buried behind magazines and brochures (that were in the condo when we arrived) so it wasn't something that obviously stood out that required our attention. It might be better suited to leave it in the middle of the table or counter so guests know they need to give attention to it during their stay.
