Welcome to Hale o'Lani Aloha -- The House of Heavenly Aloha... This beautiful two-bedroom, two-bathroom, two-story vacation condo is located on the Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course in Waikoloa Village on the Big Island. Your lanai overlooks the pool, the ninth fairway, and has a partial ocean view. Waikoloa Villas is a private, quiet, individually-owned condominium complex. This is an upstairs unit. Upstairs the loft-style master bedroom has a king-size bed and walk-in closet. The upstairs also has a bathroom with shower and a separate vanity area. There's also a small office area and plenty of closet space. There is a twin-bed and a Queen bed downstairs in the second bedroom. The downstairs bathroom has a combination shower/tub and separate vanity area with washer and dryer. In the living room, the sofa unfolds to a very comfortable queen-size bed. The condo has tiled and carpeted flooring with comfortable furnishings. The 18-foot high wood ceilings make it very spacious inside. Ceiling fans in the living room and bedrooms keep you cool and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes dishes, glasses, cookware, microwave, coffeemaker, and dishwasher. A grocery store is a quick two-minute drive away. If you travel with a laptop and can't live without e-mail, you can check it with our wireless high-speed internet access, or just use our computer and printer. The lanai has a nice patio set and a wet bar. It's a great place to begin your day with a cup of Kona coffee, or relax at the end of day. You can also use one of the two pool/cabana areas that are complete with heated pool, hot tub, gas barbeque grills, and shuffle board. A-Bay, one of the best beaches on the island, is about a ten-minute drive away. The condo has beach towels, beach chairs, coolers and even sand toys to make your day at the beach complete. If you decide to play golf instead, renters can get discounted greens fees at the Village golf course. The location of the condo makes it perfect for year-round enjoyment. It does not rain much on this part of the island and the temperature is normally 75 to 85 degrees year-round. You will enjoy a nice afternoon breeze most days. There are very few insects on this part of the island. You'll have a convenient home-base if you want to explore the rest of the island. You can drive to the live volcano in about two hours. Come experience what Hawaii has to offer and feel like you belong here... You can find many activities close by or just relax and enjoy the condo. TAT License #: TA-176-428-2368-01

Beautiful property, unfortunate mix up

The properties of Waikola Villas are very nice. We stayed in 2 different condos during our stay, and both were well appointed, clean spacious and convenient. The one bedroom ground floor condo in which we first stayed had a convenient ground floor Lanai making access to the swimming pool a simple walk across the lawn. Newly refinished, it was sparkling and luxurious. Why would anyone ever stay in a hotel! The second condo in which we stayed was a 2 story 1200 square foot unit which was located on the second and third floors. This spacious and well laid out condo could easily have housed 4 people comfortably. Slightly less shiny than the first, it was still very well kept up and I would be happy to stay there again. As there are no stairs down from the lanai a trip to the pool requires a walk to the parking lot and around the building to access. Not really a big deal for us, but may be inconvenient for those with small children or with problems walking. Why did we stay in 2 different condos? We called to book this condo while in Hawaii. We were told that it was available for the 3 nights that we needed. When we arrived at the Hawaiian Dreams office in the morning with our car filled with our luggage, we were told that unfortunately there had been a mistake, the property was not available. The only option that we had was to stay in one condo for one night, then move over to the second condo for days 2, 3 and 4. We own a business in Canada, mistakes happen, I completely understand. But we were then charged 2 separate cleaning fees (1 for each property), and the male owner of Hawaiian Dreams curtly informed me that "no reservations are guaranteed until you receive your reservation package", which we of course did not as it was a last minute reservation booked from Hawaii. The female employees smiled apologetically and did their best to help me out, but the lack of customer service leadership in the business really put me off.


Home away from home

Check-in process was very easy. You receive a letter with your confirmation packet and you are given an access code to a lock-box (door key to condo and pool are in the lock-box)on the front door and you go in. Simple! Same at check-out; you put the key back in the lock-box and you leave. While you definitely will need a car, the property is well-located to everything you need, i.e., grocery store, gas station, restaurants, golf course and highways that will get you to the beaches or drives around the island. The condo has everything you need. It's well-decorated and has nice/comfortable furnishings. I wanted to take the king bed home with me; it was so plush. Dishes, pots/pans, silverware, utensils, blender (great for slushy drinks), a closet with books/games/cards, TV with player for movies that were provided, computer - you want for nothing; it's all there. It was so nice staying in this condo instead of a hotel. You don't have to rush each morning to got up, get dressed and hurry to a restaurnt for breakfast or get to dinner at night. We purchased groceries (took a trip to Kona and shopped at Wal-Mart) and we made most of our meals "at home". We did try a few restaurants for dinner (try Lava Lava Beach Club - awesome!) otherwise the convenience of eating at the condo suited us. There is no air conditioning, but you don't need it. We opened all of the windows and enjoyed the breeze day and night. We sat on the lanai (nice furniture) and enjoyed the birds, the golfers going by and the sunsets. There was also a wet bar in a closet on the lanai so you can make coffee out there and enjoy the morning. We got a kick out of the turkeys that came by to see us everyday. I could go on and on and I really wish i were there right now, but i think you get the picture. Everything was wonderful and the accommodations were perfect for us for our vacation. Thank you - we will be back!
